Round 15 milestone for a great clubman – 100 Games
The big man in the middle, commonly known as ‘Becks’ started his career at the cougars in 2017 after making the move from Karratha to Kalamunda.
Brayden is an athletic ruck man who is really an extra midfielder in the contest. His ruck craft, follow up work and repeated efforts around the ball gives his teammates first use more often than not. He cracked into the league side in 2019, playing some great footy and held his spot for a couple of years until he was struck down with injury.
He has battled his way back from injury and has the rare statistic of playing a game at every level at the club (1s,2s,3s,4s and colts) This speaks to his willingness to help the club and his love of the game.
This year he has predominantly played up forward with stints in the ruck adding another string to his game with strong one on one contested marking and has a career high 27 goals to date.
Brayden has been the recipient of the Peter Huntley medal and in 2018 received the most association votes at the club.
Through the years has put up his hand to volunteer his time and help the club, including coaching the Brett Jones colts (2023), assistant coach for women’s (2023), committee member since 2022 and this year has stepped up to be vice president.
Well done Becks, been a long time coming but you made it to 100 games!!
He topped up an outstanding season up forward this year by kicking 10 goals in this match!, I’m sure your teammates will continue to be looking for you at every opportunity. Go well brother!
Many thanks to Montana Knight and Don Benson for supplying photos of this match. Much appreciated!!
