A New Cold War? …

The New Cold War …

POTUS and Xi have taken front page,
To start a Cold War a worrying stage,
And creating a problem that no one can gauge,
By joining the pandemic in its planet wide rage.
The Cold War forgotten with its sorry sad days,
Still leaves us old people with our thoughts in a maize,
Then Mikhail his perestroika and glasnost were praised,
As the old ‘Wall’ came down in a spectacular way!
What have our leaders now learnt from those day’s
As what we have now is cause for affray,
With people all marching in planet wide rage,
Ignoring the virus that’s spread in these ways.
Now POTUS has shown his true leadership style,
The church in the background and the Bible held high,
A photo opportunity as the well has run dry,
And message for the masses, the contents quite vile.
With Xi, the pandemic and his nations-wide rage,
POTUS is leading the worrying stage,
As the Cold Wars now seeking,
A large empire now creaking,
With POTUS to add to decay!

Watto!

History continues to repeat itself as the number of empires that have fallen continues to grow, we often speak of the fall of the Roman Empire although there have been many since then. Here are some of the elements that caused the fall of the Romans, do they sound familiar?
The health and numbers of the Roman population, the strength of the economy, the competence of the Emperors, the internal struggles for power, the religious changes of the period, and the efficiency of the civil administration. Increasing pressure from invading barbarians outside Roman culture also contributed greatly to the collapse. Climate change has also been suggested as a driver of the changes in some of these factors. Perestroika was a political movement for reformation within the Communist Party of the Soviet Union during the 1980s and is widely associated with Soviet leader Mikhail Gorbachev and his glasnost policy reform. Wikipedia
