‘Retreat is another form of advance, a good man does not fight a losing battle’ – Old Chinese Maxim.
When faced with unfavourable conditions, retreat.
Attack when conditions are more favourable.
Now we’ve been called a ‘deputy sheriff’ flying the US flag,
As joining with Trump on several fronts has caused our image to sag,
And the question last asked re our previous stunts,
‘Yes, our economy is starting to lag’!
Now the rooster’s been killed to frighten the monkey, and this is very sad!
As the CPP is now happily waiting, watching our economy flag.
Now our ministers needs to stop complaining and hold their tongue’s in cheek,
And to worry less, about unfriendly press, before we start to bleat,
As our bleats have included, people and places, right down to the South China Fleet,
And the CPP records all this, on their communist large Charge Sheet!
Now to the moderation of official language as words can cause deep wounds,
Let’s emphasize Auz-China positives as this would be a boon,
And emphasise, it’s our national judgement and not the Washington goons!
So SCOMO with your senior ministers, take heed and relay this soon!
Watto!
Australia’s huge economic dependence on China—the market for more than a third of our exports, far more than the United States or any European country—gives us no choice but to get along with our larger regional neighbour. It is fanciful to think we can find alternative markets on that scale anytime soon, or perhaps ever.
