‘Greedy, Growing and Annoying’ to,
Three monkeys in our local zoo,
They ride along and on our backs,
And slow our economy like a sad old hack.
There Federal, State and Local to,
All joined to, form a costly brew.
‘We’re waiting for the lights to change,’
Was Paul Keating’s turn of phrase,
‘The engines idling but we’re lost in a maze,
With red tape gaining and taxes raised!
Governments (Three) and rules conflict,
Workplace laws are becoming so strict,
Caution is needed if bullies are picked,
And religious freedom, a jail door clicks!
Interest rates will speed the pace!
The grins were upon the ‘pollies’ face,
But lower and lower the interest rates,
Did nothing to save this awful race!
‘We’ve reached the bottom’ the PM said,
‘We’ll lower taxes on the public heads’,
But we all know, because history shows,
That what is given, quite quickly goes!
The pressure to spend is coming from all quarters,
With stimulus seen as preferable with mortar,
But the constructor’s capacity is held up for slaughter,
As expensive high rise is constructed in mortar!
So it looks like greed that cripples our nation,
With Westpac serving to strengthen that station!
So with red tape growing and the rules all conflicting,
It confirms the way, our lives are constricting!
Watto!
