For want of wise counsel …

For want of wise counsel …

As Aristotle explained, hubris was a kind of arrogance,
The arrogance of those who seek to confirm, those who think they are superior, those who ill-treat others,
And that disdain for others, reflected in a host of characteristics considered fatal as a ruler.

Now we have the emperor, the king of the rusting states,
While not inherently evil, distrusts his advising mates,
Imbued with the political conviction, to make America Great,
And because he trusts nobody, history will repeat his fate!
Like Creon in ancient Thebes, every challenge seemed to grate,
By punishing those who opposed him, to the detriment of the state,
And the banishment of counsel when locked outside the gates,
Once more the refusal to listen, became the author of his fate!
It’s by this mechanism that Hubris breeds the tyrant,
The emperor who cannot control his goal to be a giant.
Compounded by advisors, who exceed to their leader’s whim,
Those who rush to please him, leave the nations wisdom thin.
Should they heed the wisdom of thousands of years of life,
That the chasms that yawn beneath, warn of coming political strife,
And the immortal tragedies throughout, the peaks and troughs of life.
How much more the risks of hubris, should flash before our eyes,
As the promise of the world-wide village, this hope begins to die,
Due to the Worlds new emperors, with their disruption running high,
To the plight of those invaded as the world is standing by!
Watto!
