Four new Cougar milestones …

Two big Weeks for 4 Cougar Champions …
Round 18 saw Tyler Clatworthy play his 50th club game for the Kalamunda Cougars when the Reserves battled Cockburn Lakes at Anning Park.
Tyler taking a good one

Now in his second year in the seniors and third season overall. Clatters is a powerful operator in the contest and strong over the ball, does all the dirty work in and under getting the ball to the outside runners.

Tyler plays with sheer aggression and has elevated his game this year making his league debut.

Recipient of the Brett Jones Colts best and fairest in 2022, he was runner up best and fairest in the reserves count last year from a mere 10 games!

Well done Clatters, your rise through the grades has been impressive and well deserved. A huge finals series awaits you and your future with the Cougars

Congratulations to Mayson Dougall who played his 50th club game for the Kalamunda Cougars last Saturday when the  C1 Reserves played their Qualifying Final against Jandakot at Anning Park.
Mayson in action …

‘Mayso’ arrived at Kalamunda football club as a 23 year old and is now in his third season at the Cougars after a few years at Wesley Curtain and Manning.

He is an inside midfielder who brings high energy and work rate, leading by example and putting the team first. A good ball user and decision maker who has a great set shot kick in front of goals.  Mayson captained the Reserves this year leading the team into the upcoming finals series whom are a huge chance to claim the clubs first reserves flag since 2010.

Well done Mayso, you’ve been a huge influence on the Reserves group since you’ve come to the club. I respect the way you go about your footy and the competitive drive and high standards you set for all to follow. Go well tomorrow and good luck for the upcoming finals series ahead.

Congratulations also to Tyler Mckay who played his 100th club game with Mayson Dougall in the reserves at Anning Park in Cockburn. Tyler has reached this milestone very quickly in just his sixth season at the Cougars.
Tyler with old mate Andy Mann in ‘happy’ times

When playing for the Cougar Colts he played as a key forward and hit the scoreboard regularly. His ability to take strong contested marks and his accurate set shot goal kicking, made him an important member of the side. He became a premiership player in 2020, in a thrilling 1 point victory over Willetton.

After colts he played one season in the talented thirds team in 2022, where he was thrown into the ruck learning from a very experienced and talented midfielders.  He made a second grand final appearance that year falling agonizingly short as a late goal from the opposition put them in front in the dying stages of the match.

In the years to follow, an opportunity arose in the reserves side with injuries in the teams ruck division.

He took this opportunity with both hands and made it his own and hasn’t looked back. This year Tyler has combined his rucking with his forward craft, kicking 14 goals and giving his mid field players first use of the ball to attack.

Well done Tyler, great effort mate. Been great to watch your game grow from strength to strength over the years. Huge game tomorrow, give it everything you got and come away with the win!!

Congratulations also to Sam Dhungana who played his 50th club game for the Kalamunda Cougars in the lead up game to the C1 Reserves at Anning Park.
Poise and skill …

Sammy, now in his third season of colts is a clearance specialist and accumulates a stack of the footy!

He has great evasive skills and reads the play very well and usually first to the footy. Sam makes great decisions when the ball is in his hands and is more than capable of hitting the scoreboard when moved into the forward line.

He is usually first to put up his hand when asked to double up for any of the other senior teams. Sam is popular amongst his team mates and umpires, and polled well in the association votes last year coming ‘runner up’ in the Brett Jones Colts division.

Well done Sammy, huge game tomorrow. Good luck and all the best for your first games milestone at the club. Give ’em hell and get the win!!
