More great champions and their milestones …

A massive congratulation to one of the all-time great characters of our club as Royce Knight became the tenth player in club history to reach the 250 game milestone. The game was played at the Pickering Brook Sports Club against the Wanneroo Kangaroos. Knighty’s career began back in 2008 where he played in all eighteen games for the colts, plus two finals as well as making his league debut. He has been a key position player able to play at either end with elite foot skills. His reading of the play and smart ball use makes him stand out from afar always in the right spot at the right time. He was appointed into the club’s leadership group early in his career, vice captaining the colts. In season 2009 he played in his first of seven grand final appearances but unfortunately Gosnells were too good on that day. 2010 would bring redemption, as once again making it to the big dance and this time going onto win in a massive upset, defeating Scarborough who had been undefeated all season with their closest margin all year being 8 goals. He kicked the sealer and then it was time to celebrate after the club went 3 from 3 that day with Colts, Reserves and League all victorious.

In 2011 after playing Reserves for the majority of the season, he was qualified for the newly stated thirds team for the upcoming finals series. He was a shining light in the Reserves elimination final loss against Willeton kicking three goals. Then kicking three more in his third grand final in as many years. Unfortunately, Wembley were far too good on the day this time. At the seasons end Knighty was most deservingly rewarded with the player of the finals award. In the years to come he would join the clubs committee, captain the thirds and is now captaining the 4ths for this 2025 season. .
History records his off-field antics are truly legendary. He’s the life of the party whether it be on footy trips to Phuket or association medal counts, the stories seem endless. Speaking of stories, he is the all-time greatest ever fines master, consistently leaving the club in stitches on a Thursday night between 2012 to 2023. Hopefully fines will return in season 2025!
Well done Knighty, this is an enormous effort to reach 250 games, I’ve been lucky enough to play alongside you over the journey and it has truly been a pleasure mate. Enjoy what the day brings tomorrow and let’s get the win because you deserve it. Go Cougars!

Congratulations to Dustin Brown who played his 50th club game for the Kalamunda Cougars last Saturday in round one 2025. The League side got off to a flying start for the year when took on the Kwinana Knights and won due to some fine play by Dustin! The game was played at the home of the Cougars, Ray Owen reserve.
Dusty is an energetic, skillful and versatile player capable of making a significant impact on the game. Whether it be with his breakaway speed out of packs or hitting the scoreboard up forward. Kicked 18 goals last season with two hauls of three in back-to-back weeks. He was a pivotal player in the colts grand final victory in 2022 over Hamersley Carine and is a star in our great club.
Wishing you all the best Dusty, continue to play great games and do the club proud!

Congratulations also to Ravel Matthews who played his 50th club game for the Kalamunda Cougars when the Reserves took on the Kwinana Knights in round one in season 2025 at the mountain that is Ray Owen reserve! Ravel is a hard running wingman who works his guts out to help-out in defense and link up to kick goals up forward. Ravel does all the one percenter’s consistently and also his job for the team week in week out. He is a durable player having played in all 18 home and away matches last season as well as the two finals for the Reserves.
Well done Rav, it has been a great 50 games so far, continue on and celebrate your career in style!
