Accuse Others of Murder by Moving the Corpse…
During the Tang Dynasty, a concubine named Wou gained the favour of the Emperor.
Not content to be the first of his concubines, Wou asked the Emperor to dismiss his Empress and make her his wife!
Without proof of some great wrongdoing the Emperor could not dismiss the Empress. An action such as this required the approval of the Council and Ministers of State.
Being unable to achieve her ambitions directly, Wou set about making a friend of the Empress herself. The lavish gifts that the Emperor had showered upon her she gave to the Empress to gain her friendship and confidence.
The Empress was warned by her loyal staff that Wou was not to be trusted but she did not listen.
When Wou delivered her first child she was visited by the Empress who held the baby and praised its beauty.
When the Empress left Wou strangled her own baby blaming it on the Empress because she was jealous because she couldn’t have children of her own.
The possibility that Wou had killed her own baby was unthinkable in the court since Wou had always displayed a kind and gentle nature.
They suspected the Empress’s motivation was clear as she had failed to produce an heir and was in danger of losing her position.
The poor Empress was executed and Wou put in her place!
Very few play at such a viciously game as Wou, however this strategy can be applied with less extreme measures.
In the complex world of corporate politics, laying the blame on someone else is a common game!
