Steal the Dragon and Replace it with the Phoenix …
During the Sung Dynasty Emperor Zhen Zhoung (997 A.D. to 1022 A.D.) had a beloved concubine who threatened the position of the Empress by giving birth to a prince.
The Empress paid the doctor who delivered the baby to switch it for a dead fox. The Empress then took the newborn prince and claimed to have given birth to him.
The concubine was then sent from the palace because everyone believed she was a witch because she had given birth to a fox!
It was by this means the Empress secured her position as the mother of the next Emperor.
We often see this strategy being used in advertising with the representation of the product having nothing to do with reality.
For example breakfast food that is full of sugar being promoted as wholesome nutrition, an example of ‘Marketing the Dragon, but delivering the Phoenix’.
Attempts are now being made to use ‘blockchain’, a decentralized, and oftentimes public, digital ledger that is used to record transactions across many computers. This method ensures that any record involved cannot be altered with consumer goods in the chain of distribution.
