Round 14 milestones for another three great team players ..
Congratulations to these three great players who reached important milestones for the Kalamunda Cougars in round 14 season 2024.
Joshua Warden who played his 50th club game for the Kalamunda Cougars on Saturday in round 14 at Ray Owen reserve against the Mosman Park Mosquitoes and came away with a great win.
Josh began his journey in 2022 and now is in his third season at the club. An explosive inside midfielder with powerful a breakaway with acceleration/speed and possesses a great penetrating left foot kick. He is a very competitive and combative player who thrives in the contest.
Josh put together an incredible first year and was the best and fairest in a premiership season for the colts.
He made his debut for league side this year and is improving every game by bringing a team first mentality which inspires his teammates with his work rate and attack on the ball.
Well done Wardo, great first 50 games. There are big things for you on the horizon and and we can’t wait to see what the future holds for you!
Congratulations also to Cormac White who played his 50th club game in the Colts for the Kalamunda Cougars on Saturday in Round 14 at Ray Owen Reserve against the fourth placed Manning Rippers.
Cormac began his Cougars career in 2022 and is now in his third season. He is a rangy and athletic big man with a huge leap giving his teammates first use out of the middle regularly.
His work rate around the ground and dominance in the middle earnt himself a premiership medal and a best on ground performance in the 2022 colts grand final. From then on was donned with the nickname ‘Normac’.
Cormac went on to debut for the league side in his second season at the young age of 19 and has played the majority of his football there this season.
Well done Normac, love the way you go about your footy on field and how hard you party and celebrate off field. Continue to dominate as usual and celebrate your 50th in style!
Congratulations also go to Mackenzie Burman who played her 50th club game for the Kalamunda Cougars on Saturday at Ray Owen reserve against Cottesloe.
Well known by most as ‘Macca’, she started playing for our women’s team right from the beginning in 2020 and is now in her 5th season at the club.
Macca started out as a defender in her first couple of seasons.
Her booming long kick, strong marking and great communicating skills make her a huge asset for the team.
In the first women’s final in 2021 against Melville, a teammate went down with a knee injury and she was swung forward and kicked her first goal for the club. Since then she hasn’t looked back becoming dangerous around goals and enjoying a personal best season this year with four majors!
Macca brings good sportsmanship and camaraderie and loves running out each week with her teammates.
Well done Macca, you’ve been a solid contributor over the years and it’s great to see that you’re loving your footy. Go well in the future!
Many thanks to Don Benson who provides great photos of our players.
