Congratulations to Nathan Lovell who played game 100 for the mighty Kalamunda Cougars on Saturday in round 17 against Scarborough at Ray Owen reserve.
One of the great characters at the club and commonly known by all as ‘G-Train’. Played most his junior footy as a forward but his ability to win one on one contests and his long left foot penetrating kick proves invaluable when driving the ball out of defence. He is a fiery customer and plays on the edge of that line and doesn’t ever take a backwards step.
Now in his 7th season at the club, has been a very consistent performer in the thirds team for the last two seasons. Polling high in the best & fairest counts and has maintained this again this year. Played in both the losing thirds grand final efforts (2021,2022) and is still chasing that elusive flag.
Well done G-Train, great effort mate. Enjoy the day tomorrow and hopefully we can celebrate with a win and a few wild turkeys.
Congratulations also to Jim Andrew Baldric who played game 100 for the mighty Kalamunda Cougars in round 17 against Scarborough at Ray Owen reserve.
Remarkably never picked up a footy until the age of 21 after playing rugby in his earlier years growing up. He came to the club in 2014 and started playing in the 4ths team. Over the years, he quickly rose through the grades all the way to the ones, a truly outstanding effort. His tenacious grit and ability to will himself to get to that next contest has him a step ahead of his opponent. Strong in the contest, an absolute tackling machine and a much respected player of the Cougars community.
Has put together some very consistent seasons, accolades include Brian Quartermaine medallist in 2017 (reserves) as well as runner up best & fairest in 2015 for thirds and 2019 for reserves.
Well done Jimmy, 10 years in the making to reach this milestone an incredible effort. Good luck and enjoy future wins!.
