Waiting for the Policy Contest …
We’re nearing the end of Twenty-Four, a difficult year as we’re feeling poor, with wallets quite empty and our balances raw.
Now Dutto and Albo ready for war, are tuning their policies ready to score our votes for election, in the forthcoming bore!
‘How can they do it’, the question is asked, the problems are many, and to solve them a task.
Real wages have fallen, and taxes increased, living standards have fallen and inflation released, ailing aged care with costly health systems, hurries some of our seniors to the ranks of deceased!
As for our youngsters, they all must despair, as the cost of a home is causing despair.
Education once free for all, has begun to stall, with failing school standards and curriculum’s poor.
Could this be the start of energy failures, cited by Dutto to hit all Australians, or the wish for nuclear to be our new savior!
Whatever the outcome, it will end in debate, as Albo thinks nuclear is something to hate, and its cost to install can’t be put ‘on the slate’.
Now our Collins class subs, are the talk of the pubs as only one works and the rest are all duds and the union won’t fix them co’s they’re in the pub!
And as for AUKUS we all wait in hope, as submarine stealth now looks quite remote and as for their cost, we hope they can float!
Albo believes in Immigration, is this the way to build a nation, is there a plan to build new homes, close to stations and work creation?
Or will these immigrants move to our towns or add to the cities and planner’s frowns?
So were near the end of twenty-four and now our wallets are feeling poor, fearing the ring of the bailiff at the door!

Today as I write this short little note, the power is out and the internet broke, our beers still cold, so we wait in hope!
