The Alex Haight Report: 4 new Milestones this round!

Alex Haight, Reporting

Congratulations to Oliver Adriano who runs out for his 50th club game for the mighty Kalamunda Cougars at 3:05pm this Saturday at Ray Owen Reserve.

Oli is off to an incredible start to his career at the Cougars. A two-time colts premiership player and an MVP season in 2021 to his name already.

Ollie & mates after a big ‘GF’ win!

This year he debuted for the league side in round one and has not looked back, featuring in all 9 games so far this season. A very talented young man who is always willing to help out around the club and has a very bright and exciting future for many years to come. Well-done Oli, you’re a stare mate and have a ripper day tomorrow and enjoy. Thanks to Rob/Ali Parker for supplying the photos.

Congratulations also to Kevin Cox who struts out for his 50th club game for the mighty Kalamunda Cougars this weekend at Ray Owen against Ocean Ridge at 1:10pm.

The ‘Ball Magnet’ in action …

This agile elusive ball magnet always seems to be in the right place at the right time. Puts in a mountain of work week in, week out and is a very consistent performer.

Had a breakout year in 2021, winning the Brian Quartermaine medal for best and fairest for the reserves team. A much-loved member of the community and of all weeks, he plays his milestone on his birthday!!

Well done Coxy, have a great game Saturday. Enjoy it and I’m sure the lads will get around you for a great day to remember.

Congratulations also to Josh Touchell who will play game 100 for the mighty Kalamunda Cougars tomorrow 1:10pm at Ray Owen reserve.

Josh Touchell in action

His career at the cougars commenced in 2016 where he played colts for 2 seasons and in that time was voted as captain of the team. This was also around the time the ‘adopt a colt’ initiative was implemented and I was lucky enough to draw his name out of the hat. Getting to know him through that season and over time, I learned that behind the jovial constant banter there was a fierce competitive nature to his game and a strong will to win.

Elevated straight into the league team at a very young age, he held his own and played as an intercept defender. Through the years he has developed his game and is now proving to be a nightmare matchup for any forward. His long reach and wingspan allows him to get a spoil in where most couldn’t.

Josh has delivered some great games over the years in big games. One that comes to mind is the preliminary final in 2021 against Baldivis where he was best afield for the Cougars. He missed the tail end of the home and away season and finals series of 2022 due to a foot injury. But has returned to play this year through the Reserves and is determined to get that elusive premiership he desires.

Well done son, proud of you mate. Have a great game tomorrow and enjoy the day.

Congratulations to Liam Jones who will bolt out for his 50th club game for the mighty Kalamunda Cougars tomorrow 1:10pm at Ray Owen reserve.

Liam with a big one!

A very adaptable player who can play a number of different roles. Whether it be down back, around the ground in the ruck or to pinch hit up forward, he is a reliable asset to any team. A dual colts premiership player in 2021 & 2022 and awarded most reliable player in 2022. It’s safe to say he is off to a great start to his career.

A reliable player not only for his performance, but also his durability week in, week out. He is one of three players that has played every game in the Reserves team so far this season. To me that shows that he is consistent and committed to the team and loves playing footy.

Well done on your achievement Jonesy, have a belter tomorrow and go well!
