Strategy #30 Provoke Emotions… 反客为主

Provoke Strong Emotions…

Provoking strong emotions in others is the key to controlling their actions.

Anger can conquer the World, but more commonly it blinds one’s judgment and causes fatal mistakes.

Anger  has caused generals to lose battles and kings to lose kingdoms.

Properly channelled, the anger can enable one to face death without fear.

When a country faces war, the first objective of a Commander in Chief is to create anger in the civilian population and military personnel. This was achieved by Winston Churchill when he was the Prime Minister of Britain from 1940 to 1945 and led the Commonwealth to victory in the Second World War.

Soldiers’ willingness to die for their country depends upon how well anger and hatred is aroused among them.

It is important to cultivate the ability to provoke strong emotions in others, but is just as important that others are unable to provoke strong emotions in you.

The wise man practices detachment from his emotions.  He is indifferent to praise or abuse. He will not succumb to provocation and become the victim of his own emotions.
