Thornlie V’s Kalamunda round 11, 26 June 2021
In our last post we reported that the Cougars nearly kicked themselves out of the game against Willetton by scoring 7 goals 15 points to finally win by one point!
This round saw them only kick 3 points in one half of football confirming our belief that leading up to round 10 their form had been ‘patchy’.
The worst feature of this game was the scores were level at half time, then the Cougars failed to kick a goal in the second half and only managing 3 points in the third!
Not much can be said about this game, other than to say Kalamunda looked a very tired side, made worse by the fact they let their opponents run loose and had to spent most of the game chasing them!
It’s apparent our best players who have doing the bulk of the hard work in previous rounds, are starting to feel the ‘pinch’ as this season has progressed.
There are many players in the side who have no idea how to protect the man going for the ball and once he has managed possession, they still fail to protect him while he’s trying to dispose of it accurately.
Final scores: Thornlie, 10.12 – 72 Kalamunda: 6.7-43
Best players: Very hard to find! Jarrod Brockbernd and Joshua Touchell tried hard.
