Massive congratulations to Curtis Jack who played his 250 game for the mighty Kalamunda Cougars B grade side in round 16 at Ray Owen reserve on Saturday 29 July, 2023.
His journey started back in 2008 where he played colts for his first season. After watching him play a handful of times it was pretty clear he had something special with an energy that would spark the team when it needed it. He plays the game with his heart on his sleeve, fearless in the contest and doesn’t hesitate even if the opponent is twice his size.
He was promoted quickly into the league side and has earned some great accolades along the way, including dual league premiership player (2010,2013), Most courageous (2011) & Under 23s WA state team (2011).
Off the field he has volunteered his time on the committee (2015 – 2020) and has been a big part of the social events over the years. He was a well-deserved recipient of life membership back in 2018.
‘Jacko’ is one of the all-time greats of the club, who is now in his 16th season. He has maintained a remarkable high standard of consistency at league level for a very long time and still does to this day. Over 200 league games is an incredible effort and he has played some great footy this year, so who knows maybe 300 games is on the radar.
Well done Jacko, amazing career to date and I hope there are still a few more seasons left in those legs!
Congratulations also to Michael Spiccia who played his 100th club game for the mighty Kalamunda Cougars in round 16 at Soklich & Co Oval, (Queens Park reserve).
A hard running outside midfielder who predominantly plays on the wing but can also play as a pressure small forward. Works hard up and down the ground for his team, is very fast and has exceptional evasive skills. When playing up forward, plays a crucial part by locking the ball in the forward line with his pressure and can hurt the opposition by bobbing up for a few goals.
Thanks to Don Benson photography for the great photos over the years.
