Round 16 Kalamunda V’s Bullcreek Leeming
Congratulations to Thomas Mortensen and Elijah Lohf who played their 50th games for the Kalamunda Cougars as the club returned to the mountain (Ray Owen reserve) for the first time this year.
A huge crowd attended the round from the start as the colts kicked off the day against the Bullcreek Leeming Bombers.
If you need a spark, some electricity to get the group up and inspired, then Morto is your guy!
Morto is wired differently. He has that dog hungry attitude and white line fever, with a relentless competitiveness that often gives his team the winning edge that is required.
Morto Co-captained the colts team brilliantly last year and went all the way with a gritty grand final win over Gosnells. He is a real barometer for the group and stands up in big moments like all great leaders. Morto was awarded most consistent for his performance last season and skipper again this year for the colts.
It has been a frustrating injury interrupted year for him, but now he’s back and chomping at the bit, raring to go!
Elijah Lohf also played his 50th game for the Cougars against the Bombers with Morto.
He is a dashing half back flanker who always seems poised and never rushed with ball in hand.
Eli makes great decisions with the footy and a strong communicator and leader in the back line.
He became a premiership player in his second season last year and is a ripper bloke on and off the field. Due to work commitments he’s has limited games this year, but always brings a game winning mindset every time he takes to the field.
Well done Lohfy, you always bring a positive attitude and it creates an infectious mindset to the group from the get go. Continue to have great games back at the old stomping ground, win and celebrate in style.
