More of the ‘Yes ‘er No, I dunno!

Now we have the answer, to the dreaded Yes or No,
And now we can return, to the usual ebb and flow,
Where Albo and his opposition return to ruin the show,
And answer why the Indigenous Voice, became a definite No!
Now the referendum regarding a Voice, became our country’s cost,
And the same old sorry story of Indigenous progress lost,
In the usual maze of bureaucracies and positive initiatives tossed.
Did the people of Australia understand before they went to vote?
A change for Indigenous lives and ‘Yes’ becoming the hope,
But to change the constitution was a very deep moat to cross,
And many people rumbled ‘No’, from deep within their throats.
These there were many, who had finally heard enough,
And they remembered from previous times, without creating fuss,
That they were racist and ignorant, and other nasty stuff.
And expected to keep giving, despite a lack of trust.
‘Yes’ was the hope of these people, their elders charged to confirm,
Yes, for a mob who demand respect, giving nothing in return,
Resulting in the ballot box, saying No with deep concern!
Watto!
