Congratulations to Zane Struthers who played his 50th game for the Kalamunda Cougars. against the High Wycombe Bulldogs at John Reid oval in Forrestfield in round 10, 2025.
Zane is a very versatile player, able to play multiple roles whether it be key position forward/back or in the middle/wing.

On field, he is a good communicator who shows leadership beyond his years. Zane is not shy of speaking up and holding people accountable while his footy nous earns the respect of his teammates.
Well done Zano, you’ve shown that you are very capable of being a great future leader, keep doing what you’re doing and go well in the future.

Massive congratulations to Matt Mercer who became the 24th player in club history to play 200 games for the Kalamunda Cougars in round 10 against the High Wycombe Bulldogs,at John Reid oval in Forrestfield.
Matt hails from a very strong footballing family where discipline, character and work ethic have been ingrained into how he goes about playing the game. He is a quiet achiever who goes about his business, playing his role consistently well (winner of most consistent award three years in a row). He has elite skills, and a strategic knowledge of the game with the ability to have an impact on the game no matter what position he plays.
His closing speed and run down chase efforts are something to behold, as he gets the crowd up and about and lifts the team energy and morale.
Matt’s career began back in 2011 at the young age of 17 where he played 19 of the 21 colts matche’s
2013 brought his first of four grand final appearances, this one against North Fremantle in horrific conditions where in a tight game some questionable decisions from the umpires ended up being the difference and a disappointing way to finish a great season.
The next five seasons the Cougars battled away in A grade where Matt was a regular name and key contributor in the reserves side.
From 2020 to present, he has had a huge influence on the thirds and fourths group, helping the younger players improve their game and rise through the grades.
He played in three more grand finals in 2020,2021 & 2022 but unfortunately while leading for most of those games, fell agonisingly short at the last hurdle in each if these games.
Matt is very well respected amongst his peers and no doubt will continue to put his body on the line just as he has done in the previous 199 games as he bleeds black and white.
Well done Merc, outstanding effort mate. Go well in your future with the Cougars!
Congratulations also to Ravel Matthews who played his 50th club game for the Kalamunda Cougars as the Reserves took on the Kwinana Knights at Ray Owen reserve in round 10, 2025

Ravel is a hard running wingman who works his guts out to help out in defense and can also link up and get on the end of some plays to kick goals up forward. He does all the one percenter’s consistently and does his job for the team week in week out.
Ravel is a very durable player having played in all 18 home and away matches last season as well as the two finals for the Reserves. Well done Rav, Congratulations and celebrate your 50 games in in style!
Congratulations also to Kaiden Pisani who played his 50th game for the Kalamunda Cougars. against the Kwinana Knights at Medina Oval in round 10, 2025.

KP is a very competitive and motivated player that has a strong desire to win. He brings high intensity and is driven to get the best out of himself and his fellow team-mates.
He achieved the ultimate success in his very first year becoming a premiership player with the colts in 2022. In recent times has elevated his game to a whole new level and is having a breakout season with 32 goals at the halfway point of the year. Well done KP, you continue to raise the bar of expectations each and every week. You are playing some great footy. Go well for the your future with the Cougars.
Congratulations also to Jackson Bowen who played his 100th game this Saturday for the Kalamunda Cougars. against the Kwinana Knights at Medina oval in round 10, 2025.

Jackson is an energetic player who lights the fire within the group and is the absolute heartbeat of the league side.
His passion and dedication to the game is infectious and his lion-hearted efforts each week makes him a vital player.
He will be a key factor in the club’s effort to get back to B Grade and strive for the club’s first league flag since 2013.
Jackson is a strong overhead mark, with the ability to play key forward, undersized but never out willed. He has recently taken on a leadership role within the team and on the social committee with both hands which has only helped improve the vibe in and around the club.
Jackson has had an outstanding season last year winning the club’s leading goal kicking award with 49 goals in the regular season.
Well done Jacko, I love the energy and positive mindset you bring to drive the club onwards and upwards.
Thank you to Don Benson photography for the outstanding photos!
