‘The Palmersaurus’
The dinosaur ‘T’ Rex is fortunately now dead,
It was an apex predator with a large ugly head,
It lived in the Cretaceous and had a terrible bite,
And if alive today, would surely give a fright!
Now lurking in the corporate jungle, a beast of terrible might,
It’s called the ‘Palmersaurus’, and has litigation in its bite,
It uses lawyer’s expertise, whenever it wants to fight,
And it’s prey today is a damage’s claim, only $30 billion in sight!
The Premier called his ministers and explained their terrible plight,
The Palmersaurus will break us, but legislation, we have as a right,
To stop this legal challenge and blunt the Palmerasurus’s bite.
This challenge is rapacious, and we know this bloke a skite,
And to say we’re a “banana republic” this bloke is in for a fight!
But the Palmersaurus was cunning and flagged a High Court stand,
‘This new law is unconstitutional, and completely out of hand’,
So now our poor old premier has to make a second stand,
To fight the Palmerasurus, and the COVID now ravishing our land!
Watto!

Western Australians have awoken to Clive Palmers image plastered across The West Australian’s front pages this week with mostly grotesque images of the Queensland billionaire. Editor Anthony DeCeglie has led the colourful parochial campaign against the billionaire. Palmer has been unpopular on two fronts in the west, his campaign to break down the border to stay at his $4.6m Applecross home to oversea his mining empire plus this week’s $30bn damages claim over his Balmoral South iron ore project. The latest mash up had Palmers face on the image of a cockroach. “He won’t go away” the West’s Friday front page screamed. Last Thursday his face was more aptly slapped on a cane toad, where he was labelled a “pest”. However there was no laughter from the WA government, facing a huge damage’s claim with legislation quickly passed on Thursday night designed to quash Palmers claim. Palmer will challenge the legislation in the High Court and has labelled Western Australia as a “banana republic” and “outlaw state”. We thought we'd add a bit more relating to Clive courtesy of Wikipedia: Palmer Coolum Resort: Dinosaur Park Palmer purchased the Coolum Hyatt Resort in 2011.[34] He later announced plans to build a park featuring animatronic dinosaurs there. Palmer ordered more than 160 animatronic dinosaurs, which included an initial shipment of a 3.5-metre (11 ft) tall, 20-metre (66 ft) long T. rex, nicknamed "Jeff". Palmer received full council approval for the park on 25 July 2013, and it was expected to open to the public in 2014.[35] On 14 December 2013, the dinosaur park, now called "Palmersaurus", was opened to the public.[36] Palmer's installation of dinosaurs along the side of the resort's golf course led the Australian PGA Championship to be relocated from it. The Palmer Coolum Resort was mothballed in 2015 due to low occupancy rates, with 600 people losing their jobs over the period after Palmer purchased the complex.[34] In 2017, the ABC reported that "once regarded as one of south-east Queensland's most prestigious resorts, the site is a shadow of its former self and has been the centre of a legal battle between retirees who own villa shares and Clive Palmer".[38] In 2018 the Australian Securities and Investments Commission charged Palmer with violations of the Corporation Act in relation to an attempt to take over timeshare villas at the resort in 2012. Palmer has stated that the charges are an attempt to stop him standing for election.[39] [37]
