Mosman Park V’s Kalamunda at Tom Perrott Reserve.
We wish to congratulate Alex Haight on achieving the milestone of 300 games for the Cougars in this round.

Alex who is a Life member of the club has been reporting the achievement milestones of players and officials in regular facebook posts and we are fortunate to include his reports in this blog.
For a change Alex will have his achievements posted by the club as he doesn’t like to write about himself. We will all celebrate them!
They can be found in ‘This Weeks Topic’ in the Index
The Cougars after another tough game against Melville in round 14 would have been on high alert for this game against Mosman Park, who beat them in round 6 by 9 points!
They would remember their slow start in that game against a determined Mossies side, who played the game on their terms and kicked 8 goals to the Cougars single goal in the third quarter!
Coach Bolton must have stressed pre-game, the need for the Cougars to get off to a good start in this encounter and his charges did not disappoint him. They kicked 6 goals in the opening term, with 4 of them from the boot of Tyler Mouritz who was having a ‘field-day’ courtesy of some accurate passing from mid-fielders Elijah Lys, Trent Pottinger and Reg Jones.
The Mossies managed to score 3 goals for the quarter, one of them the first goal of the match from a 50-meter penalty!
This was the first of the 3 awarded to them throughout the match by the umpires, aided in their decisions by the Mosman Park spectators on their clubroom’s balcony!
In the second quarter the Cougars dominated the play only to receive little reward for effort as their long set shots for goal were spoilt by the breeze and the desperate efforts of the Mossie backs in clearing the zone when the Cougar attack fell short of the goals. Another 50-metre penalty goal enabled the Mossies to stay in touch as the Cougars led by 17 points at half time.
In the third term the Cougars dominated the play for most of the quarter with Tyler Mouritz booting another 2 goals and Bret van Groningen drifting into the forward line to kick a goal. The Mossies stayed in touch through another obligatory 50 metre penalty goal to trail by 24 points at the break.
In the last quarter, the feeling of the spectators on the far boundary was the Cougars had not received value for the effort they had put into the game. However, Cormac White was winning in the ruck and the centerline was dominating proceedings, bringing Dustin Brown and Ethan Faulds into goal with Trent Pottinger who had worked hard throughout the game booting the last goal to win by 42 points.
